Email marketing has been around for a very long time now, in fact, as you would expect, almost as long as there has been e-mail. Email addresses are addded to the Autoresponder database once a person inputs their name and email address in and opt-in form, or squeeze page, general in exchange for a free or paid offer. Once the email address is captured, it’s on your “list” and you can continue to send promotional emails to that “list” forever or until they “opt-out” of your list at some point in the future.

Examples of popular Autoresponder services are Aweber, Mailchimp and GetResponse. Other lesser know services may be more appropriate for newbies as the monthly cost may be less such as Volusion, ConvertKit, Listwire or ArpReach.
